You may be less interested in activities you used to enjoy. Everyday tasks seem insurmountable. You might have feelings of hopelessness, worthlessness, or guilt. You may have crippling anxiety that makes you fearful with uncontrollable worry. You might feel constantly “on edge,” or have difficulty sleeping. Your depression and/or anxiety may cause uncomfortable physical symptoms such as a racing heart, or the desire to isolate. EMDR provides swift relief so you can reclaim your life.
You have chronic pain–it could be in your back, neck or shoulders, or everywhere. You may have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, irritable bowel syndrome, or persistent migraines. The body holds on to past emotion, which is reflected in chronic pain syndromes. EMDR directly addresses and treats the mind/body connection. EMDR addresses not only your mind and memories, but your physical symptoms as well.
Trauma lives in the body. Overwhelming emotions can often be traced back to trauma or disturbance. These emotions can manifest not only in your feelings, but in a number of chronic health and mental health problems, such as PTSD. Trauma also may make you feel like your body doesn’t belong to you. You may feel like other people or the world around you aren’t real. Many professions deal with a high level of daily stress. EMDR is proven to be beneficial for veterans, first responders, members of law enforcement, and doctors and nurses. EMDR is excellent for Trauma and PTSD. There IS hope.
